going somewhere - CD
  • going somewhere - CD

This debut album blends intimate songwriting with rich, indie-leaning production to create a sound that’s both fresh and familiar. Each song explores themes of growth, identity, and the quiet moments that shape us, carried by expressive vocals and thoughtful arrangements. Honest, melodic, and grounded in real emotion, this CD is a snapshot of an artist finding their voice — and inviting listeners into the journey.

a message from byrd:

dear friend, thank you with all of my heart for being here, and for listening to my first album. “going somewhere” is a love letter to my late 20’s. it’s the waves of feelings that come when you start coloring outside of the lines, when you are meeting grief, and when you find yourself starting over again (and again). it’s following an unknown path that somehow feels truly aligned, being scared and still loving your in-between stages instead of hiding them. it’s the journey home to myself (and oneself). it means everything to me to have the chance to share it with you. I hope that wherever you are going, these songs remind you that you’re not alone; birds will find and make a home anywhere
and to love all of them wholeheartedly.
love always, byrd

about byrd

byrd is a Boston-born, Seattle-based queer indie-pop singer-songwriter whose music opens a doorway straight to the heart. A lifelong storyteller and songbird, her sound blends vulnerability, resilience, and connection — a creative path shaped by more than a decade working in entertainment, both as a performer and leader behind the scenes as an awarded 30 Under 30 in the live events world.

The name byrd nods to a childhood nickname, with the “y” symbolizing her why: a return to purpose, joy, and the freedom to create with authenticity. Like the birds she’s named for, she’s made a home wherever life has taken her — across 15+ homes and many time zones — For her, home isn’t a place — it’s a feeling, a sense of belonging, of being understood and loved for you (even, and especially, in your in between stages).

That energy soars through her music: warm, intentional, and rooted in the human experience. Through her creative sanctuary, the byrdhouse, she aims to empower and heal others and invites listeners into a safe, inclusive space where imperfection is celebrated, identity is honored, and everyone is free to be themselves — no matter where they are on their journey.
